About Us
n November 2006, a number of people who were interested came together to talk about a way to reach out to the community. It became evident that there were many in the community who were struggling with some real problems. We wanted a way to reach out. Soon the Lord laid it on our hearts to create a neutral, non-religious place like a coffee house where people could come and talk, pray, receive prayer if desired, etc. Then other possibilities came pouring in such as a place for young people to hang out; a place for seminars of interest; a place to pick up a free book and read it; a place for people to develop their ministry skills; a place for musicians to bring their talents and use them; a place for games; and so on. So on May 1, 2007, we signed a lease securing the former Movie Gallery in the Clock Tower Plaza on Route 23 in Morgantown……The Torch Community Center was birthed.
